Another writ for activist

A TASMANIAN forest campaigner being sued by Gunns Limited has been served with a writ by a Westbury-based logging company.

Louise Morris, of Lonna Vale said Harback Logging Pty Ltd had alleged she conspired with unspecified people on unspecified dates last year.

"I think it relates to an action last year when I was living at Lonna Vale, when I was the media spokeswoman," she said.

"I intend to vigorously defend myself against the allegations.

"This seems to be a very worrying trend in Tasmania, in which anyone who speaks out over the logging industry may be sued for doing so."

The writ was served via a public notice in The Mercury.

Harback directors could not be contacted for comment yesterday.
