Take Action!

Imagine what it must be like to be handed a legal writ from one of the richest and most powerful logging companies in the world. It must be a chilling experience looking around your family home and wondering how long before it's taken from you to pay for massive legal and court fees, irrespective of the outcome of the legal action that could go on for years.

According to Brian Walters, SC, a Melbourne barrister and the head of Free Speech Victoria, "industry groups generally enjoy tax advantages when they bring litigation. Because it's part of their profit-earning activity, every dollar they spend on their lawyers' fees is tax deductible."
From "The Gunns 20 Litigation" Radio National Law Report Jan 25th 2005.

There's no such luck or privilege for the ordinary people being sued by Gunns Ltd.
