At a Directions Hearing today Justice Kaye made numerous orders in relation to the future conduct of the 4 year legal battle initiated by Gunns Ltd. A further directions hearing will be held on 22 May 2009 after which a trial date is expected to be announced.

Justice Kaye ordered that a new case issued by Gunns' subsidiaries Tasmanian Pulp and Forest Holdings Ltd and Gunns Forest Products Pty Ltd in January 2009 be heard with the original Gunns20 case. Gunns were also ordered to provide a list of witnesses to be called at trial by 14 May 2009. The defendants are to respond to this by 21 May 2009.
