STATEMENT OF CLAIM

Written statement by a person commencing legal proceedings
detailing the facts and legal principles which support the claim and the compensation sought.

DAMAGES

Compensation for a wrong (tort). There are several categories of damage (listed below).
SPECIAL DAMAGES - Out-of-pocket damages that can be quantified.
GENERAL DAMAGES - Compensation for losses that cannot be specifically measured,such as pain and suffering.

TORT

A wrongful act that causes harm to another person.
