Neal Funnell and Louise Morris dropped from Gunns20 case. 27 November 2009

Neal and Louise

At a Directions Hearing in the Victorian Supreme Court today it was announced that the case against Neal Funnell and Louise Morris would be dropped. See Neal and Louise in front of court in attached images.

The end of the case for these two defendants followed negotiations during the week. Neither Morris nor Funnell had to pay any damages to Gunns or any of the Gunns' legal costs. Funnell agreed not to go to Gunns head office or their Triabunna Woodchip Mill until 31 Dec 2012. The terms of the settlement with Morris were identical save that she also agreed not to go to the Hampshire Woodchip Mill.

After almost five years of litigation and millions of dollars in costs Gunns have achieved essentially nothing in relation to these two defendants.

Their remain 4 defendants in the case - Adam Burling, Lu Geraghty, Brian Dimmick and the Huon Valley Environment Centre.
